Every week, I organize 400 to 700 links into roughly 60 categories as part of my ongoing effort to learn about AI. This is my personal notebook, which I enjoy sharing with friends… a hobby and a labor of love, rather than a commercial publication or product.

If you arrived here through a search or shared link, this page collects the links I found for Apple for the week ending September 4, 2026.

As part of my learning process, I like to automate the category covers. It gives me a chance to learn Python and APIs.

This week’s cover prompt was written using Claude Opus 4.7, and the image was generated using Nano Banana 2.1.

Category Cover Image Prompt: A psychedelic screen-printed gig poster of a single glossy apple melting into swirling op-art ribbons, its sliced core revealing a hypnotic mandala of seeds, surrounded by an ornate border of autumn leaves and a mischievous worm, with the word 'Apple' hand-lettered in bold bending 1960s Fillmore-style title text arcing above. Flat ink layers in electric magenta, acid orange, deep teal, and lime green on cream paper stock with slight registration offset and visible paper texture, vertical poster composition.

This Week in Apple News

Summary by Claude Sonnet 5.5 based on this week’s links:

  • Apple hardware as AI infrastructure: One post claims OpenAI bought tens of thousands of Mac minis and Mac Studios to train computer-use agents, while Anthropic rents the same hardware through AWS. It says demand got high enough that Apple pulled high-RAM configurations from sale. Perplexity also published a post on optimizing on-device inference for Apple Silicon.
  • iPhones as capture rigs: Two posts showed multi-iPhone video turned into smooth camera moves. One used three iPhones with Atlas to build a bullet-time effect, and the other praised free viewpoint video from four iPhones, which it said once needed dozens or hundreds of cameras.
  • Apple Intelligence gets a thumbs-down: In Rowan Cheung's list of AI features that failed for him, Apple Intelligence sits alongside Meta AI in Instagram and Gmail's "Help me write." That is one person's view, not a broad finding.

This summary was generated by Claude Sonnet 5.5 to help you explore the links below. Rest assured, I select, organize, and check the links by hand in Google Sheets, and write the introduction and personal commentary in The Main Newsletters myself each week as a labor of love.

This week's links related to Apple

OpenAI bought tens of thousands of Mac minis and Mac Studios for training computer-use agents through reinforcement learning. Anthropic is renting the same hardware through AWS. The demand got so high that Apple pulled high-RAM configs from sale entirely. What’s left ships

Analyzing GPT-6 Astra’s performance on ARC-AGI has been one of the highlights of my career: With our standard harness – which lets models carry notes forward and is what we’ve historically used for apples-to-apples comparisons – Astra more than doubles the previous verified high

I had early access to GPT-6 Astra and it’s maybe the most insane model I’ve experienced In Blender, I had it recreate Apple Park from just images. It did an absurd job.

One cool use for Atlas is creating “bullet time”-style effects using only a few cameras. In this case, I was able to use 3 iPhones + my finely honed juggling skillz to synthesize a smooth camera trajectory between each pair of cameras. Also I layered in an AI-generated beats

Free viewpoint video with 4x iphones is genuinely nuts. This used to need a volumetric capture rig with dozens if not hundreds of cameras. Offline renders are just the start. Can’t wait till we can playback dynamic 3d content like this in real time.
