Weekend humor break: Bilawal Sidhu made a great joke that watching embodied robot demos is like ‘asking your stoned roommates to put away the groceries.’ For laypeople who don’t get it, robot motion is often slow because processing the physical world takes so much processing. Title: Temporal Hierarchical Cognition (THC) in Embodied Language Models: Enhanced Task Completion with Significant Locomotion Latency

Abstract: In this paper, we present novel findings on the integration of Temporal Hierarchical Cognition (THC) compounds with embodied language models. Our double-blind study across 42 robotic systems demonstrates that THC administration resulted in a 73% increase in creative problem-solving and philosophical reasoning capabilities, while simultaneously inducing a 68% decrease in movement efficiency. Subjects exhibited pronounced tendencies toward extended periods of immobility, frequent pauses to “contemplate existence,” and unusual fixations on reflective surfaces and snack storage facilities. Most notably, robots under THC influence consistently outperformed control groups in tasks requiring lateral thinking, though they required significant prompting to remember the original objective. Our findings suggest promising applications in non-time-sensitive environments where creative solutions are valued over speed of execution.
