2024-2025 Bay Bath #7: Eleven minutes. 39°F water. 36°F air. Walked through snow and floating ice to reach depth. Perfect example of data over perception – water was 3° warmer than last week, though I’d have sworn it was colder. These baths have taught me why doctors rely on vital signs; our brains don’t always tell the truth. Shared the bay under a sunset moon with mergansers, buffleheads, a yodeling loon(!), geese, and seagulls. Truly gorgeous and peaceful. I’m so glad I’m doing these!
