Yesterday was opening day of “winter bay bath” season for me and Rori, however warm weather thwarted our plans. We stayed inside, bought 119 pounds of ice, and got the bathtub down to 40 degrees. We each did a solid ten minutes. Practicing inside has been great for our confidence. The intimidation of leaving a warm car and stepping into 27-degree January wind, shedding our layers, and walking into obsidian death-water is the hardest part. As you can see in the chart, our indoor baths (green dots) are as cold as the bay. Once we are submerged in the water outside this winter, it’s all the same. I am so proud of my adventure buddy!
