Category cover theme for June 28, 2024: Album covers. A+ work by MidJourney

The category cover theme for June 28th is “album art,” referencing the big story of the RIAA’s lawsuit against Udio and Suno.

The prompt foundation was purposefully simple. I tried to find a rubric that was easy to copy and paste and move quickly, while cajoling MidJourney into styles that pick up the theme. “album art for a record titled “[category name]”.

It’s always tempting to let my ego kick in to show how great MidJourney can be, but I don’t revise the prompts or the images. I try to test the “one shot” ability of MidJourney to take a request and turn it into something usable.

I’d give this week’s output from MidJourney a solid A. My prompting was so lazy that I’ll give myself a C. Some of these images are spectacular, even if they ignore my prompt (due to my high chaos value and personalization turned on – which is the entire point!)
