Nvidia emails: Elon Musk diverting Tesla GPUs to his other companies | Ars Technica

Elon Musk told Nvidia to ship AI chips reserved for Tesla to X, xAI

“@xDaily Tesla had no place to send the Nvidia chips to turn them on, so they would have just sat in a warehouse. The south extension of Giga Texas is almost complete. This will house 50k H100s for FSD training.”

“Newly leaked internal emails to CNBC revealed that Elon ordered Nvidia to prioritize shipments of its AI processors to both X and xAI, delaying Tesla’s awaited $500M order by months Elon later clarified that Tesla had nowhere to install the chips

“xAI’s Grok is rumored to be receiving two new modes, Socrates and D.E.I. This adds to the current selections of Normal and Fun to augment the AI chatbot’s responses

“NEWS: xAI might be working on ‘Socrates’ mode for Grok.

“@WholeMarsBlog Tesla will spend around $10B this year in combined training and inference AI, the latter being primarily in car. Any company not spending at this level, and doing so efficiently, cannot compete.”
