I’m watching the Threads video about integration with the fediverse. As a 90s college kid, it is painful to watch. Meta is the OG walled garden. Everyone on this project should know that back in the day we all had public XML/RSS feeds for our Facebook posts. Everyone could subscribe to blogs and posts on Google Reader. Share OPML files. I’m trying to understand the tiny portion of life/audience that the Fediverse serves. Open up Insta and FB to the Fediverse…. If anyone gets the Fediverse and can politely explain its value (net positive to the destruction Meta has wrought in its other products), let me know.
