A few weeks ago, I was lucky to be a guest on the Matt Rouse podcast. Matt and I connected on LinkedIn through mutual tech interests on August 15, 2023. Did you know you can look that up by checking the Contact Info section on any connection’s profile?

Matt has been a consistent supporter of mine—he even reached out months before I started my blog in October 2023. He’s one of the few people I’ve never met who put wind in my sails when I launched. He also watched me slowly fall behind as I struggled to keep up with the news for 10 months. At one point, I was six weeks late in posting my blog. Nobody needs to read a weekly newsletter that comes out six weeks late!

This was the first time I had ever spoken with Matt, and it was fun to catch up and shoot the breeze about my favorite topic. He lives in beautiful Annapolis County, Nova Scotia, where he raises chickens. He’s also an old-school SEO marketer, which means he speaks my true language: digital marketing. He’s the kind of guy who could sit at lunch and talk shop with Allan Dick, Danny Sullivan, Matt Cutts, and Stephan Spencer, aka my search heroes. As a seasoned marketer, he understands the potential death of the pageview and even the end of browsers themselves.

Thank you, Matt, for having me. Most of all, thanks for being a consistent supporter of my quixotic dream! I hope we can do this again in a few months.
